Magnolia Dental Care - Seattle, WA

At Magnolia Dental Care, we take time to get to know each patient and their unique situation to help design a solution that works and promotes long-term dental health.

Typically, we schedule 70 minutes for each dental cleaning. Not only does this allow us to do a thorough job, it also provides time to discuss concerns, provide education, and answer any questions our patients may have.

The typical prophylactic cleaning includes:

    Removing Plaque and Tartar

During the initial cleaning stage, we will use a small hand-held mirror and a dental scaler to scrape plaque and tartar around your gum line and between your teeth. The more tartar you have, the more scaling will need to be completed before moving on to the next stage.

    Teeth Polishing

Once the tartar has been removed from your teeth, we will use a gritty toothpaste and high-powered toothbrush to polish your teeth. This is completely painless, removes surface stains, and makes your teeth smooth and shiny.

As with your at-home dental health regimen, any good cleaning includes flossing. Professional flossing not only removes leftover toothpaste and microscopic particles that may remain between the teeth, it also helps us detect potential warning signs of gum disease.

For the final step, you will be asked to rinse your mouth thoroughly. This will help eliminate any grittiness that remains from having your teeth polished, particles that were removed during flossing, and help activate the salivary glands. Depending on the needs of the patient, we may recommend a fluoride rinse for extra protection.

Quality Care

In the interest of providing patients with the best treatments available, we continue our education as dental practitioners. This means that we are able to incorporate both traditional methods that have been proven to be effective as well as new trends, materials, techniques, and technology to ensure that each patient receives optimal dental care at each visit.

The entire body is interconnected from head to toe — including the teeth, jaw, and other oral structures. For this reason, we provide our patients with holistic care. In conjunction with a Postural Restoration Institute trained physical therapist, we are able to help patients with dental issues that may be hindering their body’s ability to repair. The result is an improved quality of life.
